Aurelio Bruni is an Italian artist. He was born in Blera on October 15, 1955. He graduated in scenography at the Spoleto Institute of Art.
He is a self-taught artist, as he “built a house of knowledge” on his own, on the foundations laid in school. He began painting in oil at the age of 19. He currently lives and works in Umbria.
Bruni’s early paintings are rooted in surrealism, but over time he begins to focus on the proximity of lyrical romanticism and symbolism, enhancing this combination with the exquisite sophistication and purity of his characters. Animate and inanimate objects acquire equal dignity and look almost hyperrealistic, but at the same time they do not hide behind a curtain, but allow one to see the essence of their soul. Versatility and sophistication, sensuality and solitude, thoughtfulness and fruitfulness are the spirit of Aurelio Bruni, nourished by the splendour of art and the harmony of music.
