The main characteristics of the material
Glassesole is represented by two varieties. On the labeling it is designated as “P” and “K”. The latter is the material for the roof, and the letter “P” denotes the lining analogue. Accordingly, when choosing a specific option, its subsequent application is taken into account in order to achieve high operational characteristics.
The material is also represented by various basics. It can be glass chloride, fiberglass, combined version. Fiberglass is characterized by increased exposure strength. As a result, such a material is designed to waterproof all kinds of structures that withstand heavy loads. They also include vertical surfaces of structures, for example, foundations or bridges. Based on fiberglass, hydraulic system – glassizol also has an impressive service life when compared with variations with another basis.
The product made on the basis of combined fiberglass or fiberglass has additional bitumen impregnation, which may differ in its thickness. This option is advised to operate in those structures that do not need to withstand significant loads. Also an important condition becomes a surface slope of not more than 10 degrees.
Features of styling
To extend the service life as much as possible and ensure high operational characteristics of the material, it is important to correctly perform styling. Experts recommend paying attention to the following tips:
The material should be laid with an overlap of 100 mm, and the joints are welded by a soldering lamp.
To create waterproofing on a soft roof, preliminary surface cleaning is necessary, defect repair.
Work on laying the material is carried out at a temperature not lower than -10 degrees.
When laying glassizol at minus temperatures, it is kept for 24-30 hours in a warm room. This allows you to prevent cracking.
Before the process of laying glassizol, a primer is applied to concrete to ensure a denser adhesion.
These simple recommendations will improve the quality of waterproofing and exclude possible problems during operation.
