Multi-colored balloons rise into the sky above the Swiss Alpine town of Château-d’Oex. The 45th “Hot Air Balloon Week” is taking place here. The festival lasts for nine days.
Tourists can also fly over the snowy Alps. British pilot Max Duncombe took 16 people on board. He has been flying balloons for over 30 years. He has visited 32 countries. He says that each flight is special. But Max likes flying in the Alps the most. There is almost always wind here.
This year, 65 pilots from different countries are participating in the festival. Thousands of spectators usually come to watch the flights.
The festival also features various entertainment events, including night shows. “Hot Air Balloon Week” has been held in Château-d’Oex since 1979.
