This grandmother from the Brazilian city of Itaperuna will soon celebrate her 120th birthday. According to her birth certificate, Deolira Gliceria Pedro da Silva was born on March 10, 1905.
Her relatives want to apply to the Guinness Book of Records. They hope that the grandmother will be recognized as the oldest living person.
Deolira is cared for by relatives. A doctor also visits her regularly. The grandmother also sleeps well. The doctor believes this is an important factor that allowed Deolira to live to such an age. Currently, the oldest living person in the world is recognized as the Brazilian nun Ina Canabarro Lucas. In June, she will turn 117 years old.
